Those "Last Words" For The (Twenty-)First Time

It has been an annual feature of this infinitesimal corner of the universe since it inception. Now going into its third decade, I humble present again my brief mediations on the "Seven Last Words", the final sentences our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ uttered as He hung on the Cross. And like my presentation of the "O" Antiphons at the end of Advent, they are offered as a point of departure for you to reflect more deeply on the Passion.

Enjoy this oratorio by Franz Joseph Hayden to prepare you mind and heart:

Over the course of the week, the individual "Words" will come in their normal time slot, the "hour of mercy".

Once again, they begin today.

"This is my beloved Son.  Listen to Him."
