There are two verses provided: the first for Cycle A, the second for Cycle B. Either can be used for Cycle C.
Christ has risen and he has shone upon us whom he has ransomed with his own blood.
The rare non-Scripture based Proper make an appearance. The Light of the World illuminates our lives by His Death and Resurrection.
I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.
This has a dual meaning. It hints at His Passion and also His Ascension. He returns to the Father, having completed His earthly mission.
